Meet the Brands | Miss L Fire x Lindy Bop
Established in 2005, Miss L Fire celebrates fashion’s love for vintage, designing styles inspired from past decades from the 20s to the 80s. The collections combine contemporary feminine silhouettes with a colourful and individual aesthetic. Bringing unique and charismatic shoes to market isn’t their only mission; there is also great attention to detail, quality and comfort too.
The sunshine has arrived, which means it’s time to ditch the boots and chunky footwear in favour of delicate mules, sandals and wedges! Read our interview below with Lynsey Hand and add Miss L Fire to your winning wardrobe this S/S’19.
Lindy Bop: Introduce yourself and your role at Miss L Fire.
Lynsey: “Brand Founder & Creative Director.”
Lindy Bop: How would you describe Miss L Fire in five words?
Lynsey: “Creative, Elegant, Unique, Flattering, Comfortable.”
Lindy Bop: Backstory: When, where and how was the company established?
Lynsey: “I founded the company in London in 2005, on a tiny budget, and worked out of my spare bedroom for the first two years. I had worked as a buyer and designer for larger companies (OFFICE and CLARKS) before starting Miss L Fire, so felt I had a great understanding of both fashion and making shoes comfortable, and wanted to combine these two elements, which at the time, hadn’t really been done before.
I also love fashion history, and I have big feet….so creating shoes with vintage touches, which also looked good in bigger sizes (since so many original vintage shoes are super small) was also an aim.”
Lindy Bop: What’s your favourite product and why?
Lynsey: “It changes all the time as we bring in new styles all the time. That said, I love our LORETTA sandals. They literally go with anything and are so comfortable and flattering. They are our new classic.”
Lindy Bop: What product launch are you most looking forward to and why?
Lynsey: “We JUST launched a ‘Made In Morocco’ collection. The styles are gorgeous, sustainable, fair trade, 100% handmade, amazingly comfortable and surprisingly durable! We are making quite a few changes to the content of our shoes, our packaging, and our manufacturing processes going forward, to make sure that our shoes are even more hard-wearing, and have as little environmental impact as possible.”
Lindy Bop: Any exciting upcoming projects you can share with our readers?
Lynsey: “We are currently overhauling our website and our branding, so that we can give our fans an easier, more collaborative online shopping experience – we can’t wait to share our fresh new look with your readers!”
