Introduce yourself and your role at Pinup Couture.
I am Elody & I am our Marketing Coordinator. My role is an all-encompassing one, I run all of our brands social media accounts & assist in design along with in house lifestyle photography.
How would you describe Pinup Couture in five words?
Retro & vintage-inspired footwear collection
Backstory: When, where and how was the company established?
Pinup Couture is one of 8 brands belonging to Pleaser USA, Inc. The company was founded in 1993 in Orange Country California and has evolved over the years to specialize in niche footwear. Pinup Couture was born from the need for reimagined retro & vintage-inspired footwear, which was rare on the market at the time.
The Bettie-23 is one of my favourite current designs that we offer. It is the perfect dress up/dress down shoe that can be used for an occasion and it is ultra-comfortable because of its 1” platform, so it’s more like walking on a 3” heel instead of a 4” with the sexiness of a 4” heel.
What product launch are you most looking forward to and why?
Our Monroe collection of mules are super fun, but so timeless. I know they are going to be an instant wardrobe staple.
The unique thing about our company in general is that we don’t run in seasons as far as designing goes. Because we are more of a niche market, we have the freedom to constantly design and release new items, so rather than collections geared for a short time we try to create pieces that have longevity, that you can buy today or 5 years from now.
