Introduce yourself and your role at The Vintage Cosmetic Company.

I’m Clare and I’m the Co-Founder and Commercial Director of The Vintage Cosmetic Company. My role is primarily to take our products to market and bring new retailers onboard. I love my role because no day is the same and I truly believe that the brand offers a point of difference to women in the market who are looking to make their beauty routine simple.

How would you describe The Vintage Cosmetic Company in five words?

British, nostalgic, creative, community, fun

Backstory: When, where and how was the company established?

The Vintage Cosmetic Company was established in June 2011 by myself, and Craig Hubert. We realised there was a gap in the market for false lashes that enhanced a woman’s natural lash – rather than large, heavy lashes that were fiddly to apply and which hid the natural lash. The analogy I love to use is that I think false lashes should be like a push-up bra: It gives you that extra boost – you know it’s there, but you wouldn’t want anyone else too.

What’s your favourite product and why?

My favourite product would have to be our Make-up melts; I travel a lot for work so they are great for taking off my make-up on long flights as you only need water. I love the fact that they are so simple and my skin always feels really clean when I use them. I also use the reverse side to gently exfoliate my skin giving it a healthy glow. They are also much kinder on the environment as you can wash them and use over and over again. Our customers also love them as they are one of our best selling products.

What product launch are you most looking forward to and why?

We’re so excited to be launching three new items in Ulta stores across the USA and also available on Ulta.com. These include our new Leopard Print Peggy Make-up Headband, Flamingo Headband and Shower Cap set and Cooling Gel Eye Pads all with our usual vintage twist. We can’t wait to share more details about this launch its always great to add new and innovative products to our range.

Any exciting upcoming projects you can share with our readers?

We have lots in the pipeline at the moment. We are very excited to announce that we are in the process of launching into Boots South Korea and hoping to launch in QVC Germany.
